Talent Analytics: Emerging Themes and Successful Practices
There is increasing interest today in using workforce analytics to make decisions and allocate resources in organizations. In the recent Rise of HR project, spearheaded by Dave Ulrich, William Schiemann and Libby Sartain, 73 global HR thought leaders identified the use of information and analytics as one of seven key requirements for HR to be successful today and tomorrow. Issues range from evidence-based mindsets to asking the right questions to using the right analytic tools.
Today, this nascent competency is evolving rapidly, but often with many avoidable false starts and challenges. For example, Big Data has taken on a life of its own, often with disappointing results. Employee surveys continue to be used in non-strategic ways that often do not lead to better decisions, higher engagement, stronger leader competencies or better resource allocation. Bill will talk about the key issues to consider, share examples of good and bad practices, provide a list of key questions, and demonstrate the potential power of using information more strategically.
