While Return on Investment (ROI) can be a powerful tool to show the success of a training event, it is a rather cumbersome and difficult tool to use. A much simpler tool is known as Return on Expectations (ROE). ROE is a very collaborative, customer-focused approach to measure the effectiveness of a training event based on the customer’s expectations of said training event.
One of the best benefits of this approach is the use of the Results Contract (RC) to measure a training intervention’s success. By filling out an RC with the customer, one is assured a strong correlation between the customer’s expectations of a particular training event, and the success of the event itself.
This is a free benefit for ASTD-VOS chapter members. Non-members can participate in 2 SiG meetings per calendar year as a guest of a chapter member.
