Description:
If businesses were just comprised of technology and processes, they would run smoothly.  Inject people into the business and everything goes haywire.  Your employees have thoughts, feelings, emotions, values, beliefs, intellect, skill levels, judgments, opinions, genetically-driven behaviors, learning styles and are all motivated differently.  At any point in the day, the employee can be either positively or negatively impacted by their leader, peers, team (as a whole) and/or work conditions.  At a higher level, when organizational changes occur, the ripple effect (positive or negative) on employees is ‘felt’ (not logically processed) throughout the company.  When negative disruption occurs at the organizational or immediate work environment levels, employee engagement and retention suffers.  Unfortunately, the good people (A players) make decisions to look elsewhere and, eventually, leave your organization.  The B and C players tend to ‘quit and stay’ in their seats and only do enough not to get in trouble.   Does this scenario sound familiar?

This session will explain the psychology of employee engagement by holistically diagnosing three levels of fit that occur within an organization – job fit, environment fit, and organizational  fit and through exploring the twelve fit, engagement, and retention indicators. Learners will:

  • Examine the Employee Engagement Diagnostic Model ©
  • Explore the twelve fit, engagement and retention indicators within the model Employee Engagement Diagnostic Model ©
  • Apply the Employee Engagement Diagnostic Model © to a current workplace situation.
