Program Overview

Global 1,000 organizations shared their leadership development practices, processes and strategies in the 2014 Trends in Executive Development: A Benchmark Report prepared by Executive Development Associates and Pearson TalentLens. Leadership expert and lead author of the Trends Report, Bonnie Hagemann, will present compelling data showing how leading-edge organizations develop talent, which attendees can compare to their own organization’s efforts. These findings include:

• Top development priorities across organizations
• Hop topics for executive education programs
• Major competency gaps of next generation leaders
• What processes organizations are using to identify high potentials
• Which activities are most likely to accelerate development
• How leadership development dollars are being allocated during tight economic times

About the Presenter:Heather Ishikawa

For over a decade, Heather Ishikawa has held both internal and external consulting positions where she partnered with clients to architect global, corporate-wide leadership development initiatives. She currently is the National Sales Director for Pearson TalentLens North America.


Heather is also the co-author of the bestselling book, "Now You're Thinking" for FT Press

(www.ftpress.com). Heather and her colleagues are excited about the groundbreaking

ideas presented to improve “Critical Thinking Skills” and to take theoretical concepts and

turn them into practical application. Their engaging book presents real life stories and practical guidance to help readers learn to apply proactive, effective thinking skills that will enable them to spend time on people and goals that are important.


Previously, Heather served as a Senior Regional Consultant for CPP, Inc, a respected world-wide publisher and provider of innovative assessments (e.g., Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI®) and the Strong Interest Inventory®, FIRO-B®). Her skill in building and nurturing business relationships led to more than 100% growth rate across 20 of CPP’s major accounts. Heather also spent over 7 years as a Leadership and Organizational Development Consultant and Staffing Director for PeopleSoft and Applied Materials gaining experience in behavioral performance, talent assessment, recruitment and staffing, leadership effectiveness, training and facilitation, and delivery of consulting services. Ishikawa has delivered workshops to hundreds of leaders on the topics of critical thinking, leadership, teambuilding, communication and change management.


Background and Education

Heather’s educational background includes a Bachelor’s degree from California State University, Stanislaus in Organizational Communications and a Master’s degree in Organizational Management. She has extensive professional experience in organizational development and staffing, including applying expertise in selection, training, succession planning and competency development. She has contributed to numerous articles and whitepapers including HR Executive magazine, CFO.com and Drive Thru HR.
