Role: Director, Volunteers
Main role responsibilities
- Drive the volunteer life cycle of ATDVOS by creating a great volunteer experience in support of ATDVOS goals
- Recruitment:
- Promote volunteering with ATDVOS, including specific opportunities and benefits, as well as generally
- Manage volunteer database in Wild Apricot (organization's CRM)
- Meet and learn about volunteers and their volunteer objectives for better matching
- Onboarding:
- Deliver regular (quarterly?) onboarding for new volunteers
- Tailor onboarding program to different volunteer levels
- Setup onboarding program that can be delivered by any board member consistently
- Matching:
- Know what opportunities are upcoming to being matching/recruitment
- Know volunteers to make a good match = relationship is key
- Recognition:
- Define a recognition program that is valuable to volunteers
- Promote volunteerism through ATDVOS media channels
- Evaluation:
- Define and measure key metrics (like number of repeat volunteers)
- Evaluate recruitment and volunteer experience to be able to improve the life cycle
Responsibilities as Board Member
- 2 year role
- As a leader in the Chapter, attend 2/3 of Chapter events
- Attend at least 8 of 10 board meetings annually -- most board meetings are virtual
- Recruit and train replacement
- Required: Member of both national ATD and local chapter
Key Collaborators
You'll work with the Director, Professional Development (programs) and the Director, Membership most closely as they will have many of the volunteer opportunities. You'll also work with the Director, Marketing to promote volunteer opportunities and recognize volunteers.

Your year will be tied to the cadence of chapter events (spring and fall) and with volunteer recognition event(s) that you put on.
